SILVERADO STAGES WINS MCI-SPONSORED GREEN HIGHWAY AWARD AT UMA EXPO;
MCI CUSTOMERS TAKE HOME UMA LEADERSHIP AWARDS
DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, FEBRUARY 26, 2016: (TSX:NFI) (TSX:NFI.DB.U) Motor Coach Industries ("MCI"), a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. (the "Company"), the largest bus and motor coach manufacturer in North America announced Silverado Stages was the winner of the 2016 MCI-sponsored United Motor Coach Association Green Highway Award.
The peer-judged award recognizes motor coach operators for their green-friendly equipment investments and business practices. MCI helped develop the award to build awareness of the motor coach industry's leadership in green mass transportation, surpassing trains, planes and passenger cars in lower emissions and overall fuel economy.
The award, presented earlier this month at UMA EXPO in Atlanta, recognized Silverado Stages for holding itself to the highest standards in environmental sustainability. The San Luis Obispo, California-based operator has an aggressive fleet renewal program that keeps half of its 130 coaches model year 2013 or newer; a CNG-fueled shuttle fleet and fleet monitoring software that reinforces fuel-conserving driving behaviors.
MCI also congratulated its operators winning the 2016 UMA Leadership Award presented at EXPO:
